Aguilas Town Hall presents the municipal nativity scene for the 2023-24 festive season
The official Belén can be seen at the Águilas Plaza shopping mall
The official municipal Belén, or nativity scene, was presented on December 6 at the Águilas Plaza shopping mall in a ceremony attended by Mayoress Mari Carmen Moreno, Councillor Maido Simó and other local dignitaries.
The iconic Belén de San José was donated to the town of Águilas by Antonio García, who passed away a few months ago, and this year it is due to the efforts and hard work of the Paso Azul that it has been set up in the mall. The scene contains almost 800 figures, many with moving parts, and over 100 buildings and other constructions representing humble abodes and iconic local sights such as the castle, the Molino de Sagrera windmill and the Torre de las Palomas.
The Belén can be visited every day of the week between 17.00 and 21.00 while doing your Christmas shopping at Águilas Plaza. Alongside is a collection point for foodstuffs to be distributed to those in need by the local branch of the Cáritas charity.
If visiting Águilas your first port of call should be the local tourist office (click here for map, telephone 968 493285, email turismo@aguilas.es).
