Casa de las Artes, Cieza


Current home of the Conservatorio de Música Maestro Gómez Villa

Today, the Casas de las Artes is located in a noble señorial house, built in a typical baroque style, in the first Casa de las Artes, Ciezahalf of the eighteenth century for the Marín-Barnuevo family.  This ancestral home has very decorative iron grills and balconies as well as two carved coats of arms ( escudos)which decorate the front of the house.  One coat of arms has emblems from Beatriz Ruiz-Dávalos and Marín-Blaquéz family, from the female line, and the other is the coat of arms of Diego Marín- Blaquéz and Matheos de Montalván.
In the nineteenth century, the house was the residence of Diego Marín Barnuevo who became a lifelong Senator (Senador Vitalicio).

Casa de las Artes, CiezaFollowing renovation work, it became the present home of the Casas de las Artes and the School of Music, Conservatorio de Música Maestro Gómez Villa.
