Introduction to the El Valle Golf Resort
El Valle Golf Resort is a Polaris World development located between the city of Murcia to the north, the area of Mar Menor to the east and Cartagena to the south, all of them within half an hour’s drive.
This urbanization, which opened in 2007, offers a choice of 369 villas and 319 apartments distributed around the central 18-hole golf course, and is based on a desert theme, with attractive planted areas and landscaping embracing a prairie
grass and Mediterranean plant scheme. The clubhouse includes on-site sports and restaurant facilities. The properties have a traditional whitewashed finish and the villa design has a typically Spanish feel.
The 271-acre site (1.1 million square metres) allows ample space, and the setting in the foothills of the mountains which divide the city of Murcia from the Campo de Cartagena ensure a retreat-lime atmosphere. Owners’ forums describe the
area as “peaceful”, “quiet” and “tranquil”, and almost all those participating strongly recommend that visitors hire a car in order to get out and about due to the lack of public services.
There is no doubt that this development is less occupied than other Polaris resorts, being slightly further away from the Mar Menor and airport than other Polaris developments. The tennis and paddle tennis courts are little used (and at the time of writing the paddle tennis court is out of service), and the resort lacks other facilities apart from the clubhouse.
However, it is the perfect choice for those who prefer peace and quiet, and a countryside setting.
The resort centre is reached easily from the only access point to the resort, where a security gate adds to residents’ and
owners’ peace of mind. Drive straight up the main road and follow the signs to the golf course: the clubhouse doubles up as the resort centre, and features the Sándalo bar and restaurant (tel 968 031001), from which further information regarding facilities on the resort is available.
The resort is conveniently located for both San Javier airport (15-20 minutes) Corvera (due to open summer 2014) also 20 minutes and Alicante airport, 45 minutes to 1 hour.
