La Torre Golf Resort hotel agrees to pay half a million euros to community fees

ARCHIVED ARTICLE -

Old grievances between the hotel and the resort residents have been buried with a promise of more cooperation

La Torre Golf Resort hotel agrees to pay half a million euros to community fees
The DoubleTree hotel by Hilton on Murcia’s La Torre Golf Resort has sent a notice to all property owners on the resort informing them that they will have an early Christmas present this year in the form of reduced community fees for 2024.

By working closely with the community management, the hotel has agreed to pay its fair due towards the costs of maintaining the resort community. A decrease in fees of 10% was already planned for owners this year, and the half a million euros promised by the hotel will reduce this even further.

The communiqué reads, “After lengthy negotiations and with both parties demonstrating the utmost interest in resolving past differences of opinion, we are pleased to inform you that an agreement has been reached to put an end once and for all to the economic disputes that have been ongoing.

“The agreement will involve a disbursement from the Hotel of nearly 500,000 euros allocated to the community accounts during the upcoming year. Simultaneously, it will result in a benefit for all co-owners through an automatic and general reduction of the ordinary fees for the year 2024, by deducting from the planned budget the amount of 143,054.69 € contemplated in the expenses item under the heading “cash flow protection”. This savings adds to the previously announced adjustments proposed and approved in the annual budget at the General Meeting.”

Beyond this gesture of good will, the hotel has promised that, going forward, they will work closely with the community for the good of the resort as a whole.

“Furthermore, the Community and the Hotel will begin working collaboratively on initiatives that can be beneficial for both parties, as they undoubtedly need each other, all for the benefit of all members of the community.”

Finally, the two entities will now join hands to pressure the company GNK Golf to contribute to improving the landscaping on the golf course and to solve the problem of the draining of the resort’s lake.

“Last but certainly not least, the Hotel and the Community have commenced regular meetings with GNK Golf to solve, as far as possible, the issues arising form the draining of the lake adjacent to the Town Centre. The discussions are progressing, and as soon as we have further updates, they will be communicated through this channel.”
