May 4 Homemade soaps take centre stage at the El Zacatin arts and crafts market in Bullas

The May artisan market in Bullas features demostrations of ancient soap-making techniques as well as the usual wide selection of arts and crafts stalls

Bullas is hosting its monthly El Zacatín artisan market on Sunday May 4 between 9.00 and 14.00 in the squares around the Plaza Vieja and Plaza del Castillo and along Calle San Antón.

The events during the morning include demonstrations of how soap used to be made in the home, a chance to learn the secret of ancient techniques and how they have developed into modern times.

On top of this, of course, there will be the usual large array of varied stalls and stands, providing a great morning out in the north-west of the Region of Murcia, and at t the same time, there are plenty of opportunities to sample the local DOP Bullas wines!

This is the oldest regular artisan market in the Region of Murcia, dating back to 1944, and always offers a wide range of traditional artisan crafts and gastronomic goodies. There is plenty of parking in the streets nearby and the market is easy to find, the main route off the motorway running straight to the central plaza.
