Orihuela Costa foot bridges blocked off in December and January
Four of the pedestrian walkways over the N-332 will be shut for routine maintenance
Orihuela Costa residents will be forced to take the long way around this Christmas and New Year as the Ministry of Transport has just revealed it’s planning to block off four of the blue pedestrian bridges that cross over the N-332 for a spell of maintenance.There’s really never a good time to inconvenience people, but the timing does seem a bit unfortunate given the usual influx of visitors to the area over the holidays.
In any case, the routine work on the overpasses will go ahead in four different stints:
- Punta Prima Footbridge (KM 52+700) Monday December 15 to Friday December 19
- La Zenia Footbridge (KM 49+850) Monday December 22 to Wednesday December 24
- La Regia Footbridge (KM 48+500) Monday December 29 to Wednesday December 31
- Campoamor Footbridge (KM 46+500) Wednesday January 7 to Friday January 16
The good news is that the works forcing the closure of the La Zenia overpass are scheduled to be finished on the 24th, so they shouldn’t impact the thousands of people scheduled to hit the beach on Christmas Day for the biggest beach party in Europe.
