Fire in Casas del Pino, San Javier, controlled after thick smoke visible from afar
Emergency crews rapidly respond to blaze near El Pino II industrial estate and prevent further spread
A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in the Casas del Pino area of San Javier, close to the El Pino II industrial estate, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The thick column of smoke from the blaze was visible from a considerable distance, causing concern among local residents and prompting numerous calls to emergency authorities at around 4.25pm.Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium quickly deployed to the scene, joined by personnel from San Javier Park. Due to the scale of the fire, reinforcements were requested from the Los Alcázares Fire Station. Thanks to the combined efforts of these teams, the blaze was soon brought under control, minimising damage and alleviating fears of escalation.
The Emergency Coordination Center confirmed that the fast mobilisation of trainers and support units was instrumental in managing the fire promptly. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or significant property damage connected to the incident.
This latest fire incident adds to a series of wildfires in the region recently sparked by challenging weather conditions, underlining the ongoing risks faced during this dry season. The rapid containment of the fire in Casas del Pino reflects the preparedness of local emergency services to respond effectively to such emergencies.
