San Pedro del Pinatar prepares beaches for the 2026 season
The coastal town is getting ready for the good weather as it plans the return of the chiringuitos

San Pedro del Pinatar is already getting its beaches ready for the 2026 beach season. The town hall has just opened the tender for the installation of new chiringuitos, kiosks, ice cream and churro stalls along the coast, including the Lo Pagán Fairground area.
This summer, beachgoers can expect a few upgrades and some small changes as well. All the chiringuitos and kiosks will have toilets nearby, clearly signposted in both English and Spanish. The bars and stands that serve food will have clear allergen information at hand. At the Lo Pagán Fairground area, the planned food stands and stalls are designed to blend in with the surroundings and will serve a range of snacks and treats perfect for a summer evening at the fair.
The companies that win the tender will take care of all the setup, maintenance and safety, including managing the usual coastal risks. At the end of the season, all structures will be removed and the beaches restored to how they were before.
For anyone thinking of applying, the contract will start on February 1 and run until January 31, 2027, with the option to extend for another year if both parties agree and the State Coastal Authority in Murcia gives the green light. The kiosks can generally operate from March 1 to November 15, and all costs for setup, running, maintenance and safety, like electricity, water and permits, are the responsibility of the concessionaire. Anyone interested can find more information and the full tender documents by asking at the San Pedro del Pinatar Town Hall.
