This is the start of the REALLY hot weather in Murcia: Weekly forecast May 26-29
No more rain or storms forecast in Murcia for the foreseeable future as the heat finds new highs

There’s still almost a month to go until the start of astronomical summertime, but I think it’s safe to say we are well and truly into summer territory in the Region of Murcia now, with an unbroken spell of sunshine and temperatures reaching up into the mid- to high-30s forecast for this week.
Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is predicting highs of 36ºC in central Murcia by next weekend, with the heat gradually ratcheting up between now and then.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Murcia, Friday May 30
There will be some occasional high cloud cover, but for the most part it will be very bright and sunny – definitely shorts weather now!
At night-times, temperatures in the south of the Region will drop to around 16-18ºC, while in the northern half it will be around 13-15ºC, with these minimums rising slightly over the course of the week.
During the day, maximum temperatures will also go up as the week goes on, up to around 28-31ºC on the coast of Águilas, Lorca, Mazarrón and Cartagena; while inland the maximums will be closer to 33-35ºC.
In terms of windspeeds, Aemet doesn’t foresee anything stronger than around 20kmh for the week, which is very mild, so we can’t even rely on a bit of a breeze to bring the feeling of heat down.
By Saturday May 30, Aemet is forecasting highs of 37ºC in Murcia city. From 38ºC onwards is when the meteorological agency normally issues yellow weather warnings for “extreme temperatures”. Makes a difference from the rain and wind warnings we have become used to in the last couple of months!

- Tuesday May 27: Min 13ºC; Max 30ºC
- Wednesday May 28: Min 13ºC; Max 34ºC
- Thursday May 29: Min 14ºC; Max 35ºC
